How to: Go to the parent folder of an open folder.
Solution:
Click the 'Up One Level' toolbar button.
1) If the toolbar is not already displayed, then select the 'View' menu and select 'Toolbar'.
2) Click the 'Up One Level' toolbar button. (It shows an up-arrow on a yellow file folder.)

NOTE: In order for the toolbar to be inherited by each open window, the browse options must be set to 'Browse folders by using a single window that changes as you open each folder'.
